IE Does Not Like Transparency in PNG Files When I started this blog, I wanted to have a completely custom theme that I designed myself. I started off with the Default theme that comes with Wordpress, and I was going to tear it down and build it up again. I went with about the same color scheme I have now, but I made everything have rounded corners. In order to do the rounded corners, I made PNG files with transparent backgrounds. Firefox handled these files fine, but Internet Explorer did not like this at all. IE put random colors in for the transparent sections, and of course, the colors did not match my color scheme. I had a red background, and IE filled the transparency with black. I changed all my images to GIF files, and they finally worked in IE. The GIF files were also smaller. I also had a problem with IE adding about 10 pixels of white dead space on the right side of my theme. Again, Firefox did not have this problem, but IE did. This made me ditch the idea of having my own custom theme. I went with the same theme I had for my last blog, but changed the colors to suit the color scheme I was originally going to go with. There are a ton of green blogs out there, and even more blue themes. I went with red because I wanted to be different, and I like red.
